Lunch at Bottega Louis

What to Wear to Lunch DTLA

White jeans are in order...

My new favorite trick came from Susan Street over at FiftynotFrumpy.blogspot.com, that is to wear a long necklace to break up the barrel chest.  Now I will always use that tip.

Look how well it works!!  I'm so happy to learn that trick, it keeps me from looking bigger up top and I'm trying to reduce added bulk.  Hollywood Secret:  Whenever wearing white, pack your Wet Ones.

Just like these.  They totally work on white and I NEVER leave home with white jeans without a pack of Wet Ones.  This is what the wardrobe people carry with them AT ALL TIMES on set, because it works!!

Bottega Louie is a restaurant, but they have the most amazing desserts.  You can not leave the place without a box of macaroons in every flavor.  If you ever get to DTLA (downtown Los Angeles), Bottega Louie is a destination.

Even the packaging is gorgeous!

Please leave comments, I would love to hear what you have to say and thank you in advance!  Enjoy your day!

What to Wear on Monday

If you've got the blues...

A pop of color is just the trick to put a pep in your step!

Stripes definitely say summer and red shoes keep me on my toes, especially on a back-to-work-Monday-blues!

Black and white Ralph Lauren striped shirt from Macy's.
White jeans and sunglasses from Target.
Red patent leather pumps (old) from Steve Madden.
Black satchel bag (old) from Coach

There's a fake banana in my bag, if you leave a comment, I'll send it to you to prove I'm happy to see you.

Tuesday Style Inspiration

White Jeans Grey Shirt

Pop of color...

Thank Goodness for the beautiful women that put themselves out there and inspire the rest of us.  Some days, my brain is DEAD and if I can get an idea for dinner or a better way to hack through life or an inspiration to shop my closet, well, the better I am for it.

Isn't she wonderful?  She's from Seattle...DressCoriLynn.com. I appreciate her style and check her blog almost every day.  It seems she just has it together, right?  And then, I read her blog the other day...check it out...DressCoriLynn.com...and she said that some days she wonders why she does it...okay, maybe I'm not CoriLynn and certainly she does not dress like a woman over 50, but her style is classic, ageless, and elegant...the perfect inspiration.

So, while I am not the perfect CoriLynn, maybe I can be the best ME.
(Thank you DressCoriLynn.com, you are my style inspiration and made my life just a little easier getting dressed today...)

Bloom where you are planted.

Striped Shirt White Shorts

Sun's Out

Time for the summer sun to put a little color on those legs...

I love striped shirts, it's a classic and sets the tone for summer.  Pop of red color keeps it from being too expected.

It seems striped shirts are everywhere.  Mine is old from Ralph Lauren.  White shorts from Old Navy.  Red belt from Target and red cross body bag from Coach.  Old, old espadrilles from Charles David.

50something comes with grey roots.  Hollywood Secret: Color Wow!

I wouldn't believe it, unless I saw it myself, this stuff works.  My shade is platinum, but it comes in EVERY shade.  Available at ULTA or on-line.

It's crazy how well it works...in seconds!!  Now let's talk about hot flashes...Hollywood secret: The personal hand fan

The wardrobe, hair, and make-up departments all have these on set for the actors...because they work.  Just don't fall asleep with one near your head, because it will get caught up in your grey hair...yea, that happened.

Spring Forward

Sometimes just a pop of color is all that is needed...

Spring is in the air, but the weather is still a little chilly, so that means pants and long shirt. Lunch with my bestie deserves pulling out the heels and purse, so a pop of color is in order.

(Old) chambry shirt is from Old Navy and white skinny jeans are from Hollister.  I have to ask them to get the short ones from the back.  I've tried on many, many jeans and found that these fit my silhouette.

Behind the scenes in Hollywood, the Costume Designer will talk about the actor or actess' silhouette.  This just means the outline of the costume of the particular character that the actor or actress is playing.  Find the "silhouette" that best flatters your body and stick to it.  I am short, I have short legs and a short torso with no waist, so skinny jeans, blousey top, high heels is my silhouette.

Shoes by Lipstik off of NastyGal.com.  Purse by Louis Vuitton.
